My Values

I am proudly Pro-Life. I believe that life begins at conception and ends at natural death. I completely reject the idea that this is not a local issue. Local politicians are able to use existing laws to prevent Planned Parenthood from being able to set up shop in Fort Wayne, as an example. This occurred in South Bend. I would make sure to follow suit should they try and come back to Fort Wayne.

I live by the principle that taxation is theft. I believe we should demand our elected officials to live within the existing budget. I would have voted against the wheel and income tax increases. It was recently reported that we are going to save 4.5 million by switching to solely Parkview for the healthcare of city employee's. Ironically, this is the exact same amount that the income tax increase generates for us. So we could have not raised this tax and got the money from the existing budget. I truly believe thru zero balance budgeting we can keep our current tax rate infinitely. Taxes should go to three basic areas: Infrastructure, public safety, and education. At a local level we are failing in all three of those areas right now.

Red River Trash situation

The Red River situation is an awful situation for the entire city. I supported Council when they voted to hold them at a breach of contract. From there, we should have ended city contract's with trash altogether. Anyone who lives in the county, but not in Fort Wayne, is able to choose their own trash company. This is how it should be for Fort Wayne residents. Competition breeds better service and prices. Just ask anyone who lives in the county.
